Zusammenfassung:Die Forschungsbereiche des Instituts Wohnen und Umwelt und dessen Interdisziplinarität werden dargestellt. Die darin stattfindende umweltpsychologische Tätigkeit zeichnet sich durch eine Vielfalt an Adressaten, durch eine erhebliche inhaltliche Bandbreite und durch einen ausgeprägten Praxisbezug aus. Ein Beispiel für die Projektarbeit stellt die Evaluation innovativer Wohnungen dar, die zu Empfehlungen im Hinblick auf die Weiterentwicklung der Wohnungsbauförderrichtlinien der Länder beitragen soll. Im Rahmen der aktuellen Diskussion über das Konzept "Nachhaltigkeit" eröffnet sich ein neues umweltpsychologisches Aufgabenfeld.

Abstract:Applied psychology in the Institute of Housing and Environment The areas of research of the Institute for Housing and Environment and its interdisciplinarity are described. The work of environmental psychology conducted here is characterized by a variety of addresses, by a considerable spread in contents and a distinct relation to practical work. An example of project work is the evaluation of innovative dwellings, which is to contribute to recommendations with regard to further development in the sector of subsidized housing. Within the actual discussion about the concept of "sustainability" there is a new task for environmental psychology.
